Job Description: Marketing and Communications Designer


Position Summary:
We are looking for a Marketing & Communications Designer with a strong blend of marketing expertise, graphic design capability, and digital communication skills. The ideal candidate should be able to conceptualize and execute marketing campaigns, manage social media platforms, create engaging visual content, and contribute to the overall brand positioning of the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies aligned with company objectives.  
    • Design professional marketing materials, including digital and print channels  
    • Manage and maintain Kesho’s social media platforms, digital presence, and content calendar.  
    • Create engaging visual and written content for campaigns, events, and brand awareness initiatives.  
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align messaging and visual identity 
    • Coordinate and execute digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms.  
    • Assist with internal and external corporate communications.  
    • Ensure brand consistency across all marketing and communication materials.  
    • Support business development initiatives through creative marketing solutions.  
    • Monitor and track campaign performance and provide insights and recommendations for improvement.  
    • Stay updated on market trends, social media trends, and emerging design.

Given the nature of this role the following design competencies are essential: 

Graphic Design & Visual Identity:

Proficiency in creating logos, layouts, marketing materials, and visual brand systems. Must demonstrate a strong aesthetic sensibility and attention to detail.

Communication Design:

Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, visually engaging communication pieces for both internal and external audiences, including reports, infographics, and presentations. 

Digital & Social Media Design:

Experience designing optimised content for social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) including static posts, banners, stories, and campaign creatives.

Design Software Proficiency:

Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or equivalent tools such as Canva Pro, Figma, or CorelDRAW.

Brand Consistency:

Demonstrated ability to develop, apply, and maintain a consistent brand identity across all touchpoints and platforms. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in marketing, graphic design, communications, or digital media management.
  • Strong portfolio of previous work demonstrating graphic design, branding, campaign management, and communication capabilities.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, etc.).
  • Experience managing social media platforms and digital campaigns.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Creative thinker with strong attention to detail and branding consistency.
ADDED ADVANTAGE:
  • Experience working within a professional services or multidisciplinary environment.  
  • Basic photography and video editing skills.  
  • Knowledge of website content management and digital analytics tools. 
  • Client service and professionalism  
  • Copywriting and editorial skills
  • Brand identity and visual storytelling.
